Control unit for remote power factor control and for remotely controlled outputs

The NRC 86 unit is mainly intended for compensation systems of large PV plants connected to the HV, which require remote control of the required power factor by means of pulse inputs in the sense of PPDS 2010. Another possibility of deployment is compensation systems with remotely controlled outputs. The unit is deployed in combination with the special controller design "NOVAR 1xxx NRC".
Deployment options

Compensation systems with remotely controlled power factor - Up to 5 pulse signals are connected to the NRC 86 unit. A pulse of the appropriate length on one of the inputs is evaluated by the unit as a request for the sequence number of the required power factor value. This serial number is acknowledged by the unit by switching the corresponding output - this signal is transmitted back to the distributor to check for command acceptance. A NOVAR 1xxx NRC controller (or several controllers) is connected to the unit via a serial communication line, which periodically reads the serial number of the requested power factor and regulates to the corresponding preset power factor according to its value.

Compensation systems with remotely controlled outputs - The NRC86-07 unit with seven outputs is designed for this purpose. If the compensation system has more outputs than 7, two NRC86 units must be used. The unit (or units) is placed directly in the compensation cabinet and interfaces with the NOVAR 1xxx NRC remote controller via a communication link. The contactors of the capacitors or inductors are connected to the outputs of the NRC 86 unit, while the outputs of the controller itself remain unconnected.
