Reactive power regulator FCR123

FCR123 reactive power regulators are designed for power factor control in LV 50Hz/60Hz networks. They are fast regulators capable of regulating up to 25 times per second, designed exclusively to control fast CTU33 thyristor modules that do not need a discharge delay to switch single phase capacitors.  FCR123 controllers compensate power factor in single phase, therefore 3 FCR123 controllers must always be used.

Features
The instrument digitizes the measured waveform of the combined voltage between two phases and the current in three phases. It then calculates the power factor, the effective values of voltage and current from these values and calculates the required compensation power based on the allowed reactive power, which is entered in the controller in the form of the required power factor. Depending on its magnitude and sign, the controller then either switches on or off the appropriate capacitor stages.
Alarms

FCR123 reactive power regulators are equipped with a separate alarm output which is activated when an alarm event is triggered. Several alarm events can be defined at once with the option of setting the threshold, duration and effect on the controller stages. If the effect of an alarm event on the controller stages is enabled, all stages will be disconnected when the alarm event is triggered.

Circular switching of stages
The controller uses a circular switching method within each power level. The controller always switches on the stage in the respective power level that has been switched off for the longest time. It does everything in such a way that it reaches the optimum state in one control pass with the minimum number of switched stages.
Software

Through the freely available Power Monitor System software, devices equipped with RS485 communication can be easily configured and benefit from other software options for easy system monitoring.
