Use of DEKOMP chokes

Decompensating inductors represent a non-rotating inductive load from a network perspective. This then eliminates (compensates) the capacitive reactive power present in LV networks. Therefore, in general, the installed power of decoupling reactors is sized so that their inductive reactance compensates for the capacitive reactance present. DEKOMP inductors are therefore particularly suitable for applications that have problems with the supply of capacitive power to the grid, especially due to the capacitive nature of the installed appliances or large cable networks.

Decompensating reactors are generally inductive loads that eliminate unwanted capacitive power generated on parasitic elements of the distribution system such as long unloaded lines. Currently, they are mainly used to solve reactive power problems in solar power plants. Our standard offer includes DEKOMP decompensation reactors in capacities from 1 to 60 kvar for 400 V, and custom-made for higher capacities and voltages.

The technical solution is to reduce the reactance (absolute value of the difference between inductive and capacitive reactance) to a minimum. The decompensation stages can then be fixed or automatically switched according to the immediate need for compensation power.

•  Design - ferromagnetic core with double air gap, windings encapsulated in PES.
•  Connection - RSA terminal block, above 15 kvar flat flag pins 20x5 mm with M8 screw hole.
•  Supplied outputs - standard inductive output up to 60 kvar, 400V, others custom made.
•  Tolerance - maximum deviation of 3% from nominal. Inductance.
•  Losses - approximately 30 to 50 W per 1 kvar of installed power
•  Safety - integrated temperature sensor.
•  Insulation stability - class B.
•  Conductor sizing - Class F.

The safety of operation of the inductors is ensured by the design of the inductor itself, i.e. sufficient conductor sizing and insulation stability up to 135 °C, and by the integrated temperature sensor with reversible expansion contact at temperatures of 110 to 140 °C (as required).

 The protection of the decompression choke shall be sized for the current flow by slow fuses with characteristic 'gG/gL'. Switching is carried out by conventional motor contactors with overcurrent protection, and controlled switching by a controller adapted for this purpose.
