Contactors for Switching Capacitors

Contact switching using electromechanical contactors is the most common method for connecting capacitor banks in switchgear with step-regulated compensation power. Modern contactors have undergone significant changes compared to their predecessors, especially in terms of contact design and, most importantly, the use of resistive switching to limit transient phenomena accompanying each switching operation.

VIVO K - the latest series of contactors for switching capacitors. The advantage is a wide range of powers, starting from 2.5 kVAr up to 60 kVAr. Based on practical experience, these contactors can be recommended as the best price/performance choice.

Benedikt - a traditional contactor for switching capacitor stages. Power ranges from 12.5 kVAr to 100 kVAr.

BMR Thyristor Modules - The CTU thyristor switching modules are designed for switching LC circuits with a predominant capacitive component (tuned compensation stages). The advantage of the CTU modules over traditional contactor switching for capacitor stages is the immediate connection of the capacitor without prior discharging. This is made possible by a special design that ensures the capacitor is ready for further connection immediately after being disconnected. The switching of the capacitor is realized at the moment when the difference between the capacitor voltage and the system voltage before the switching element is equal to zero.

VIVO II - these contactors are suitable for standard operating conditions and are offered at the best price.
